A/C line repair shop?

Looks like i have a leak at the drier connection for that long line that runs down the drivers side and then across the firewall. I hear that a good a/c shop can cut the line short at the bad connection and basically splice a new connection in. Any shop recommendations in the austin round rock georgetown area? Trying to avoid removing that long line. The connection appears corroded enough that is just wont hold a vacuum well enough even with a new oring.
Thanks.
Wade

Wade, I had A1 Auto and Air do a line on my Jeep about 2 months ago. Same thing, cut off the end and weld on a new connector. Cost me (I think) $25. They are in Georgetown. Just east of the post office off Leander Road. They are at the intersection of Railroad St. and Leander Rd.

Thanks. Do you recall if they had to remove the line to weld? I took it to a shop in round rock last week, a/c authority, and he wont weld with the line on the car. Instead, his plan is to fab a hose line to replace the metal line and reroute it so we dont have to remove the old line, which appears to require dropping the cradle etc ... Needless to say, alot more than $25.

I took them the line in hand. It was not on the Jeep.

Just curious, why do you not want to remove the line?

Ah..... Missed the "requires dropping the cradle" part. I'm liking at mine now and I'm it sure which I line it is you need repaired.... Not sure if the LS2 is different in that aspect. If you're around today, let me know I'm off for the weekend. Maybe bring it by...?

Sorry i missed you this past weekend, been hectic with me working in dallas during the week. Robert at A/C Authority got it fixed up for me on monday. Cold again! He hid the new line pretty well so it looks mostly oem. Was going to take way too much time and labor to remove everything to get to the line, especially for a daily driver.

It was the liquid line that connects to the dryer. It runs along the drivers side frame rail to the firewall then across over to the expansion valve. It is one solid line buried under everything along the drivers side, brake booster, steering linkage, etc ...
