Fall Fun Run: Oct 16-18, 2015, Kerrville, TX
Here is the tentative itinerary:
Fri Oct 16: Check into the event hotel. Meet and greet, go out to eat at a local restaurant. Lots of nice places to eat along the Guadalupe River in Kerrville. I can try to get us a group area at one of the restaurants once I have an idea of the number attending.
Sat Oct 17: A nice cruise along the famous Three Sisters route in the Texas Hill Country. Amazing scenery, plenty of places to stop for photos, and BBQ and other places to eat out that way. Saturday night we meet in the pub at the hotel and enjoy live music, and possibly do a drawing for a few prizes.
Sun Oct 18: A morning show and shine before we all head our separate ways.
I am in the process of getting a group rate nailed down for the Inn of the Hills. This is a pretty nice place with a couple of pools, lots of outdoor space, a restaurant, and a pub that has live music and adult refreshments . The rate looks like it will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $120/night and includes the full breakfast buffet.
Also - I would like to see this possibly become an annual event. Any thoughts on what to call this gathering? For the time being I am calling it the GasTiresOil Fall Fun Run.
Inn of the Hills ( http://www.innofthehills.com) is now accepting reservations for our October get together. You need to call and ask for the GasTiresOil.com group rate for the $119/night.
When making individual reservations, please call Inn of the Hills Resort & Conference Center @ 800-292-5690 and request the GasTiresOil.com block to secure the negotiated group room rate. For any additional questions please contact the GasTiresOil.com coordinator or Inn of The Hills Sales Department at 830-895-6018.
The price of $119 is for a room with a Kingsize bed. I am attaching a map of the hotel. There are some nicer rooms available, but those prices you would have to negotiate yourselves.

We are on the final countdown to our cruise this weekend. As I said when I put this together, I wanted this to be low stress and something different than what we've done in the past. This is not Goatfest and I have not solicited a bunch of sponsors, made up t-shirts, nor catered a big meal. You can stay at the event hotel, or you can stay at Motel 6 and still come enjoy everything that we're doing. Just come and have fun!
I have heard that some of you will be arriving later on Friday and some not until Saturday morning, so here is what I propose as the agenda for the weekend:
Friday - Those that are spending the night, get checked in. We'll get together and make a decision where we want to eat supper and hang out. Since some people will be arriving later than others, I figure this will be pretty fluid and flexible. Later, we can hang out at the bar at the hotel. It is open to the public and is supposed to have live music.
Saturday - I am thinking that we will gather to cruise the Three Sisters around 10:00 AM with a rollout at 10:30 AM from the Walmart parking lot. The total cruise length is over 100 miles. There are a couple of places in Leakey to stop and eat lunch. We can discuss which of those places we want to stop. There is a custom car show in Bandera from 2 PM to 5 PM if folks would like to go check that out on our way back to Kerrville.
Saturday Night - I am planning on us to have a group dinner at Mamacita's in Kerrville.
Sunday - I am really open as to what we do. One suggestion I have is that there is a really nice mural of the Texas flag that lends itself very well to taking pictures of your car. We could do that, or do a mini cruise, or whatever.

If you guys can pull off a gathering like Goat Fest, I actually may be interested in a mini vacation down south
If we can get a decent turnout of Pontiacs, I may be in. Any interest in vendors??

I'm not trying to do something the size of Goatfest to start out. For one thing, I simply don't have the time to organize a big event. So if this thing works, maybe we can look at expanding this for next time.

There needn't be a comparison between this and GF. This is Chris making a smart move to get us all together during one of the prettier times of the year.
GF was wonderful, but required loads of money, planning, and vendor support. GF saw a drastic reduction in turnout each year since 2008/9. That said, the best part of GF was getting to see old friends from far away, since we're all busy with school, work, families and drug deals. (yeah I said it!), and getting to cruise around Fredericksburg. This event will definitely cultivate the latter two benefits.
I think this has the potential to be a great annual gathering, and I will be there for Friday evening and Saturday morning until 2pm. Look forward to seeing some folks there!

I'll keep my name on the list, for now. However, I need to see if I can even have that time off, since I'm working an insane amount of hours every week, again.
I'd hate to miss this!

The list above is not complete. Between this page and the FB page, I'm counting about 10 at the moment. Let's get some more folks.

I'm in and reserved a room a few weeks back. Just joined here today for the updates. I'm very active on Facebook and would like to help push this thing. I'm sure we can get more than 10 confirmed.
