Red thread to black made EASY

I wanted to change the shifter handle, ebrake and shift boot to one's with black thread. Not so easy to find, and VERY expensive.

I bought a black permanent fabric marker from the local craft store for $2.73.

45 minutes latter = no more red thread.

Here is a shot of progress in process

How is it holding up? Fading or still good? I'd like to be rid of red.

I don't drive the car much. It's held up ok. I notice in bright light that it could stand to be retouched. Overall I'm happy and would still recommend it.
