"Check Engine Oil" message today

Eek! Starting up at IHOP this morning the car sounded weird and the display said "Check Engine Oil". Frowning, I shut it off, checked the oil level (full, just changed it a week ago) and scratched my head. Started it up, same symptoms, so I thought I'd pull down the street into a gas station. I pulled out of the parking lot, accelerated, and then the sound went away and the check engine oil message went away. The only thing that I can think of is that there was a clog or cavitation in the oiling system that the higher RPMs of actually driving popped loose...

Your thoughts?

Wish I could offer more advice, but I would say, first and foremost...

DON'T DRIVE IT!

Not until you see if there's anything else going on.

You sure it wasn't the oil change reminder?

If it's the "Service Engine Oil" alert, that's one thing.

If it says "Check Engine Oil," then don't drive it until you find out what is wrong, if anything.

It was definitely check, not service. And like I said, it's been fine since. Like I had a clog or cavitation of some sort. *sigh*
