Powering GTO seats outside of car

I have a pair of 06 GTO seats and wanted to power them out side of the car. I made a bench for them and would love to have them powered, I think it will make a sweet garage "couch". My goal is to have a battery power the seats and trickle charge the battery when needed. I looked over figures 35 and 36 of the wiring diagram sticky and don't fully understand it.

Is there anyone that has done this before? I don't want to fry anything right out the gate. Figured I would ask before jumping into it. Thanks.
