New Centercaps

Just a sneak preview...

Modified Pontiac Solstice centercaps. The camera flash makes it look a different color than the wheel but they're actually very close. And with my chrome lugnuts, I think it will look nice and add a very subtle touch.

EDIT: The finished product:

Edit 2/18/2014. I decided to go with the G6 centercaps which are identical but have a red arrowhead:

Looks good Robo.... have you thought about painting the arrow head red and then some clear over the top of it all?

I'm probably going to leave them plain for now.

OK - here's the centercaps. These are Pontiac Solstice centercaps. I broke off the black plastic fingers on the back since they don't work with the GTO wheel. I then JB Welded them to these metal plugs I found at Home Depot. These plugs are for plugging holes on electrical boxes but have metal tabs that can be bent to make them snug in the GTO wheels.

This might be a good fix for the stock center caps when the tabs break on them.

Just FYI - I have put over 500 miles on the GTO since I installed these new centercaps. No problems whatsoever and they haven't come loose at all. I'm very pleased with how they turned out.

Still no problems with the centercaps coming loose or anything. Got a lot of compliments on these at Goatfest, too.

After giving it some thought, I decided to go with the G6 centercaps that have the red arrowhead. They are identical to the Solstice caps except the arrowhead is red. Making them work was identical to how I made the Solstice caps fit.

I really like those wheels man, and the caps look great! Did you get the wheels from JHP?
